Associate Professor Vilavun Puangsricharern is chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University and director of the Excellence Center for Corneal and Stem Cell Transplantation, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Puangsricharern was the first in Thailand to prepare human amniotic membrane to be used as a tissue graft for ocular surface reconstruction. She also does pioneering work in limbal stem cell culturing and transplantation. She has published numerous papers in international journals and has been invited as a reviewer for several journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Scientific Reports, and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology.

She holds academic positions with the Council board of ACS, the Executive Committee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist of Thailand, and the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Society of Thailand.
