Karen Zhang is a Principal Orthoptist who has worked at SNEC for 15 years. She works with children and adults of all ages, providing non-surgical management to patients with binocular vision issues and teaching early intervention strategies to parents/caregivers of children with low vision. She has a keen interest in healthcare education, especially in the effectiveness of electronic learning on knowledge, skills, and behavioural change in healthcare professionals. Her publications include “Effectiveness of electronic learning for continuing interprofessional education on behavior change of healthcare professions: A scoping review,” “Teaching Orthoptics to Ophthalmology Residents: A needs assessment study,” and studies on intermittent exotropia, its natural history, and the effectiveness of non-surgical treatment.
