Jodhbir Mehta is Senior Consultant at Singapore National Eye Centre and specializes in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery, practicing mainly in corneal transplantation, anterior segment reconstruction, and refractive surgery. His research interests cover all aspects of corneal external disease and refractive surgery. These include the culturing of human corneal endothelial cells, corneal genetic disorders, artificial corneas, corneal transplant instrumentation, novel techniques for femtosecond laser ablation, novel drug delivery devices, cornea imaging devices, and new selective tissue transplantation procedures. He is also involved in randomized controlled clinical trials in dry eye and a large multicenter infectious keratitis study. He has won 42 awards, most recently the Nakajima award (Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, 2013), American Academy of Ophthalmology Senior Achievement Award (2017), and Coster Lecture from the Australian Corneal Society (2018).
