Prof. Ang Chong Lye obtained his MBBS from the University of Singapore. He later specialized in ophthalmology. He was conferred Ophthalmology Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow), Fellowship ad hominem from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and Fellowship at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, UK. Prof. Ang was Head of the Vitreo-retinal service at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) from 1991 to 2000 and was appointed Director of SNEC from 2000 to 2008. In 2008, Prof. Ang was appointed CEO of the Singapore General Hospital. He concurrently holds the appointment of Deputy Group CEO (Clinical Services & Informatics) in Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd. Prof. Ang currently still practices at SNEC. His special interest is surgical vitreoretina.
